Tiroteio no Museu do Holocausto
A eleição de Barack Obama parece ter deixado a extrema direita num estado de ódio mais violento que o habitual.
Depois do militante anti-aborto que assassinou cobardemente o ginecologista Tiller, hoje foi a vez de um supremacista branco, que entrou com uma espingarda no Museu do Holocausto. O atirador atingiu a tiro um dos guardas (negro), que viria a falecer já no hospital, antes de ser detido.
O Washington Post informa-nos que o detido
James Von Brunn has been a leading writer in the white supremacist fringe for many years. Several of the country's largest and most prolific producers of racist tracts and books have traditionally been based in the mid-Atlantic states, some of them centered for many years around the National Alliance, which was run from William Pierce's secluded West Virginia headquarters until his death in 2002.
Von Brunn's online book, "Kill The Best Gentiles," is hundreds of pages of conspiracy theories that include Holocaust denial, the ancient hoax of the "Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion," and wild webs of fantasy seeking to link the Federal Reserve Bank, the Illuminati, Sigmund Freud and Karl Marx in a grand, centuries-long story of Jewish plotting against white people.
Update: Segundo o Washington Post e outras fontes «Von Brunn (..) also appears to be the author of a recent Internet posting suggesting that President Obama's background is being hidden from the public».
Para os que aqui chegam via Blasfémias, um esclarecimento: Um relatório recente do Department of Homeland Security enviado à polícia de todos os estados alertava para o aumento de actividade de terroristas de extrema-direita que a eleição de Obama poderia despoletar, ou antes afirmava que se iria assistir a uma «resurgence in rightwing extremist recruitment and radicalizations activity» devido, entre factores, à eleição do primeiro presidente negro dos EUA.
O relatório «Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment» foi retirado depois dos muitos protestos dos conservadores mas parece que os seus autores não se enganaram nas previsões...
